MRI Research Coordination

The FAU Division of Research has a new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) research center featuring a GE 3T Premier MRI scanner. The imaging center is managed by the FAU MRI team to assure compliance with established policies for the protection and welfare of human and vertebrate (animal) subjects participating in research. All imaging projects must be reviewed and approved by the Human and Animal Imaging Committee before access can be granted for imaging. All researchers should obtain the appropriate safety training. Researchers interested in a new MRI facility should contact MRI Medical Director, Dr. Andrew Newberg at anewberg@health.jsxfjn.com. The MRI team can provide researchers with assistance through review of their imaging protocol for human or animal imaging safety. They will support researchers with their imaging request and offer guidance to select the best imaging modality for their study.
